attorney Michael Bilson is off his rocker

October 11, 2009

Don’t hire him.  He’ll make you homeless and penniless.

Attorney Michael Bilson

nothing good can be said about this California probate lawyer. Hiring him could be risky to your rights and property. You won’t find out about this doing a google search. Beware.

Ken Harris said:  Live music is not as special as it used to be for the masses so one has to create his/her own opportunities as much as possible.  I work in elder care facilities playing older songs.  It’s the best appreciative audience for live music.  These people are at the end of their lives and my musical performance is the high point of their week, but I have to learn some older songs from their past.  It’s more satisfying than playing a smoky bar.  Get a solo or duo act together because there are a lot of gigs that can only afford to pay 1 or 2 players.

Actually not all of these people are at the end of their lives.  There can be a broad range of ages and not all may be elderly as some facilities accept younger disabled people.  Furthermore, whether it is the high point of their week depends on the individual.

Inasmuch as I was railroaded into one of these homes I can attest to the fact that many of the musicians who came in to perform seemed like they were either at the beginning of their careers or at the end.

Part of the reason the residents may be so enthralled during the music could be because life in those places is not fun and games, many people have despair and fear and the people who run some of these places act like the residents are disobedient children or pets.  Visitors to a home have no concept what it’s really like.  It’s the differenc between watching ater boil and being side a pot of boiling water.

watch out for this one retirement home

August 15, 2008

There are many retirement homes in Los Angeles, California.  One to avoid would be a place called either Woodland Park or Park Ventura located on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills.  If you hav to live there:  ask a lot of questions such as:  do you have blank complaint forms for the department of social services?  Do you order peopl about?  Do you coerce people into behaving?  Do any of your employees yell or harass any of th residents?  Are any of you mredical techs licensed?  How far do you transport people to their appointments?  How do you handle emergencies?  What do you clasify as an emergency?  Do you ever take money or property away from any residents for any reason?  What and why?  Do you keep the water supplies safe?  Have there ever been rats in the dfining room?  Has anyone ever ben hurt in an elevator?  Do employees ever wrongfully accuse residents of misconduct?  How good tasting is the food on a consistent basis?  Are residents told their rights verbally and do they know who to contact if their rights are violated?  What rights are those?  Do you follow every law applicable to you business?  Do you ever lie?  What is the real name of the owners?  Where is their office or home?  Under what circumstances can you be evicted?  Do you ever interrogate residents about anything by calling them into an office without notice?  How effective is the telephone system?  What are all the rules that a resident must abide by and why?  Do residents argue with eqch other?  Are there any residents who are demented, violent, verbally abusive?

If you get sick in the middle of the night, what do they do for you?  And how do they do that?

even the best retirement home can be bad

June 28, 2008

My HMO railroded me into a retirement home so it didn’t have to pay for me to be in a nursing home.  The retirement home had a good reputation–but that is like saying a specific concentration cmp is the best concentration camp.  The home I was in had petty little people running the place, making up rules as they went along, lying bout things, putting the residents at risk for haalth and safety and spending money on glitz and not infrastructure.  Until you actually reside in one of these hell homes, you have no idea what they’re really like.  And asking residents about the place doesn’t always help because many are stuck there and afraid of being thrown out for speaking honestly to anyone.
